Neil deGrasse Tyson is...well, a dude! Dressed in cowboy boots and an embroidered shirt he represents the essence of ultracool nerdiness. Trained as a wrestler in high school he soon became the self-appointed "Defender of the Geeks." Now one could easily argue he is their de factor Leader.
He is America's Most Popular Scientist, has been voted the Sexiest Astrophysicist Alive, and will be Hosting the new “Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey” which is a sequel to Carl Sagan’s hit television show from the 1980s.
Neil doesn't mind a good verbal scrap and from the beginning I found him digging in and questioning some of the very assumptions of my questions. He's feisty and playful and deeply passionate about not only science but its broader implications to our society as a whole. And he gave the longest, most passionate answer in London Real history to my infamous "What would you tell the 20yr old you?" question.
I was very fortunate to have this hour to spend with Neil and I foresee a long and storied career that will transcend science and bring everyone in the world closer together. Tyson for President? 2024? I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.
